Nice projector, average sound and bad remote

I have been using this projector for 3 months. I tested it for both home theater and business presentations. The image is great, very clear and bright, even at 20ft from the screen, when it's 8 ft wide! The zoom and keystone correction allow for perfect adjustments.The built in speaker is average, barely good enough for business presentations. For home theater, of course you want to use your surround sound so it doesn't matter much. The most aggravating part is the remote buttons: they are very mushy, with no real feeling to know if you are pressing them or not... Because of that, moving through the menus can be really cumbersome as you keep going too far and have to back up. I end up using the buttons on the projector itself, because it makes it much quicker than trying to control the pressure on the 4 directions arrow button! For home theater, it's ok because you only turn the projector on and off once it's installed, but when you have a presentation with customers, it can get really embarrassing...Overall a very nice projector, but please give us a good old traditional remote, rather than this fancy, futuristic and unusable one!

Oldie but Goodie

I purchased the NEC LT260K projector used and near the end of it's original lamp's life. It was an especially good deal as the projector came with a brand new lamp. I used the unit for an additional 100 hours with the original lamp and then started noticing the picture getting dark and hard to see. Changing out to the new bulb was effortless and wow what a difference. The optics are sealed which means it does not have a filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced. This is really nice when a ceiling mount installation is called for. This is a very bright projector. It is very versatile and it has served every purpose from business presentations with lights on full, to church presentation with dimmed lights, to home theatre viewing with lights out. In home theatre use you will want to swtich lamp setting to "econ" which will both extend the lamp life and also lower the fan setting for whisper quiet viewing. There are many great features with this projector.I have also owned and operated Epson, and Mitsubishi projectors.Enjoy!
