By Ben Thirkield
I am a sales trainer and I travel a lot and use a projector in many different settings. This small projector delivers an excellent image even in a room with some lighting that might normally obscure the image. Only possible drawback is that if you are in a very small conference room, you won't get a huge image if the projector is too close to the screen. I bought this for use in medium and large venues and am very pleased with it. It really does provide close to "HD" image quality.

This Optoma TX7156 was quite a pleasant surprise! I have been shopping for a couple of months for my camera club, the Photographic Society of East Tennessee ([...]). PSET members submit digital images for competitions and the projector is something we have needed since the club was organized four years ago, but we never had the funds until recently.I also belong to the Photographic Society of America (www.psa-photo.org) and went to them for information about projectors suitable for club competitions. After getting recommended specs from them, I began my search. The Optoma brand kept popping up. I must admit I had never heard of "Optoma." So, after researching the brand/company I was pleased to find it was a well recognized company with a good reputation. The first thing I noticed and liked about the TX7156 is it compact size. It is lightweight and came in a nice carrying case with pockets for accessories. A quickstart guide was included and after glancing at that, I hooked it up to my laptop. The projector quickly automatically found the "source" and sprung to life. I was blown away by the brightness! I was projecting with full room lights on and against a beige color wall, but the image was brilliant.Next I noticed how quiet it was compared to my personal projector that I bought a few years ago (bought the cheapest one I could find: big mistake!). I'll be buying this one for myself soon. The remote is easy to use and has a built in laser pointer which is real handy. The keystoning control worked exceptionally well too.Another thing I liked was the format options, which is a great feature for our club. Being able to choose among 4:3, 16:9 I & II, and native formats is a good thing. All in all, the TX7156 is a totally professional piece of equipment, and Amazon's price was nearly 50% off of MSRP!! Super Deal!
